Samsung Galaxy S26 FE arrives with minor hardware tweaks and higher price
Priced at $950, the new Samsung Galaxy S26 FE arrives with a familiar 6.7-inch OLED display and a 4,900mAh battery, mirroring its predecessor almost exactly. While the company introduces a refined camera island and new colorways, the modest hardware evolution is shadowed by a notable increase in cost for the base model.
Beneath the surface, the S26 FE relies on the same architecture as the S25 FE from twelve months ago. Aside from the expected annual chipset refresh and a slightly wider 12-megapixel selfie camera—now featuring an 85-degree field of view compared to the previous 80—the core components remain unchanged. Samsung has focused its aesthetic efforts on a glossier finish and a raised camera module designed to align with the flagship S26 lineup.
The handset debuts in three colors: a graphite gray, a blueberry blue, and a pistachio green borrowed from the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Despite these superficial adjustments, the shift carries a financial sting. Driven by industry-wide memory cost pressures, the entry-level model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage now retails for £699, representing a £50 premium over the launch price of its predecessor.
