Nasuni acquires DryvIQ to bolster AI-ready data governance

The acquisition allows Nasuni to scale its governance capabilities, moving beyond simple storage to active content analysis. By utilizing DryvIQ’s technology, the platform can now scan over 550 file formats across 175 languages, identifying sensitive information like PII and PHI. This granular level of insight enables organizations to automate policy enforcement—such as quarantining high-risk files or managing retention labels—directly within the storage architecture.

Nick Burling, Chief Product Officer at Nasuni, noted that customers have historically struggled to bridge gaps between multiple vendors to manage their data lifecycle. With this integration, the company positions its UniFS foundation as a central hub where data is not only stored but also prepared for AI consumption. DryvIQ founder Mark Brazeau emphasized that the merger addresses the reality that most enterprise content remains scattered and unclassified. The combined solution is available immediately, with further technical integration planned for the coming months to streamline hybrid cloud operations and cost management.
