Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S Named to TIME100 AI List for Second Year
For the second consecutive year, Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S has earned a spot on the TIME100 AI list. The recognition highlights his role in steering the technology services giant toward enterprise AI transformation, focusing on workforce reinvention and the integration of next-generation operating models at scale.

Under Kumar’s direction, Cognizant has pivoted toward a strategy centered on hyperproductivity and industrialized AI. The firm now manages over 8,000 AI engagements globally, with more than 40% of its internal code generation currently AI-assisted. This shift reflects a broader commitment to Software 2.0 principles and the democratization of expertise through initiatives like Synapse, which aims to provide digital training to two million people by 2030.
Stephen J. Rohleder, Chair of Cognizant’s Board of Directors, noted that Kumar is actively challenging traditional service delivery models. By prioritizing context engineering and the synergy between human ingenuity and machine learning, the company seeks to bridge the gap between initial AI investment and tangible business value. Kumar himself emphasizes that the economic potential of this transition—estimated at $4.5 trillion in U.S. labor productivity—depends on an organization's ability to fundamentally reimagine its production functions.
