Walmart and Sam's Club Raise $39 Million for Children's Hospitals
A 39-year partnership between Walmart, Sam's Club, and Children's Miracle Network hit a significant milestone this August, securing $39 million in donations. Collected during a four-week summer campaign, the funds are earmarked for pediatric research, trauma equipment, and family support services at local hospitals across the United States.

The fundraising drive, which ran from June 8 through July 5, leveraged Walmart stores, Sam's Club locations, and digital platforms to engage shoppers. Associates played a central role, sharing personal accounts of care received by their families at local hospitals to encourage contributions at checkout. While the bulk of the donations came from in-store and club transactions, $1 million was generated specifically through Walmart’s website and mobile application.
Kristen Schavemaker, Chief Partnerships Officer at Children's Miracle Network, noted that the decentralized nature of the funding allows individual hospitals to address their most urgent local needs. By keeping donations within the communities where they are collected, the initiative aims to provide care teams with the flexibility to improve health outcomes and provide immediate support for families. This year’s total underscores the sustained scale of the retail giant's philanthropic efforts, which have now spanned nearly four decades of clinical support.
