Christopher Lee Named CFO of Gold Coast Health Plan
With over 25 years of healthcare finance experience, Christopher Lee has stepped into the role of Chief Financial Officer at Gold Coast Health Plan. He assumes the position during a transitional period for the Ventura County provider, tasked with managing significant policy shifts affecting its Medi-Cal and Medicare member base.

Lee, who officially began his tenure on August 24, arrives at a moment of structural change for the organization. CEO Dr. Felix Nuñez noted that the plan must navigate the complexities of H.R. 1, including the transition of specific member segments to a fee-for-service model. Lee’s background, which includes a seven-year stint as vice president of financial planning and analysis at SCAN Health Plan, will be leveraged to stabilize financial performance while overseeing a $5.2-billion budget scale.
Before joining Gold Coast, Lee served as CFO at Healthcare In Action, where he focused on rebuilding financial systems for the Southern California organization. His career also spans leadership roles at Anthem and CareMore Health. A graduate of the University of Southern California and UC Irvine, Lee is expected to fortify the fiscal infrastructure supporting the plan’s 220,000 members, which include a significant portion of Ventura County’s pediatric and senior populations.
