Rockstar Reveals Extended Look at Grand Theft Auto VI
A new extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI confirms the return of the iconic six-star wanted system and a massive open world three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2. Captured on PS5, the footage highlights the dynamic collaboration between protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos across diverse missions.

The game emphasizes player agency in the relationship between Duval and Caminos, who do not necessarily have to be a romantic couple. Players can toggle between the two protagonists at any time or choose to experience the world as a solo character. Gameplay mechanics include a sophisticated police AI that tracks player identity, forcing users to change outfits to evade detection. Stealing vehicles also introduces new complexity, as high-end cars require specific equipment to bypass security.
Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson noted that a February playthrough clocked in at 80 hours, encompassing both main narrative beats and optional content. Beyond the core crime-focused missions, the world offers diverse activities ranging from basketball and underwater diving to track racing and parachuting. Despite the return of the in-game social media platform Snapmatic, players cannot post content to maintain the protagonists' anonymity while on the run.
Following previous unauthorized leaks that the studio described as heartbreaking, this official preview provides a definitive look at the title's scale and mechanics. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19th at a price of $79.99. Notably, the title will be available exclusively as a digital download, with no physical disc version planned for release.
