Wondercide Launches Search for America’s Dirtiest Dog

Mud-caked paws and grass-stained bellies are getting a spotlight as Wondercide kicks off a nationwide contest to crown the country's dirtiest dog. The campaign celebrates the messy reality of canine play while simultaneously funneling resources to New York City’s Animal Haven shelter to help rescue dogs prepare for life in new homes.

Pet owners have until September 4 to submit photos or videos of their dogs at their muddiest on Instagram, tagging @Wondercide with the hashtag #AmericasDirtiestDog. Following the entry period, the brand will select three finalists for a public vote held from September 5–9. The eventual winner, to be announced September 10, will receive a year’s supply of Wondercide’s plant-powered Flea & Tick Shampoo and a permanent feature on the contest’s website.

Beyond the social media competition, the initiative serves a practical purpose for shelter animals. Wondercide is providing monetary and product donations to Animal Haven, ensuring that adopted dogs arrive at their new homes equipped with protection against fleas and ticks. As Animal Haven Executive Director Tiffany Lacey noted, the partnership provides the necessary support for shelter dogs to transition into environments where they are free to run, play, and explore without restriction. For Wondercide, the contest reframes the inevitable mess of pet ownership as evidence of a healthy, active life.
