Nektar Therapeutics Issues Equity Grants to New Hires

Nektar Therapeutics has issued stock options and restricted stock units to eleven new employees as part of its 2025 Inducement Plan. The grants, approved by the company's Organization and Compensation Committee on August 20, serve to attract fresh talent to the San Francisco-based biotechnology firm.

The company awarded a total of 25,200 non-qualified stock options and 5,000 restricted stock units (RSUs). These equity packages are tied to the 2025 Inducement Plan, which the board adopted last November to provide hiring incentives under Nasdaq Listing Rule 5635(c)(4).

Stock options were priced at $74.53 per share, matching the closing market price on the grant date. These options carry an eight-year term and a four-year vesting schedule, with the first quarter of the shares becoming available after one year of service and the remainder vesting monthly. The RSUs follow a similar four-year timeline, with quarterly vesting occurring after the initial one-year cliff. Both awards remain contingent upon the recipients' continued employment at the clinical-stage company, which is currently developing treatments for autoimmune and chronic inflammatory conditions.
