Niutech Secures Major Deal to Convert Waste Plastic into Aviation Fuel

The agreement centers on deploying Niutech’s proprietary continuous pyrolysis technology at one of the energy major’s large-scale refineries. By integrating this system, the facility will gain the ability to process between 10,000 and 50,000 tons of plastic waste annually, converting low-value materials like PP, PE, and nylon into pyrolysis oil. This oil serves as a critical feedstock for hydrotreated Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), providing a scalable alternative to traditional used cooking oil, which has faced significant supply constraints.

This partnership arrives as aviation decarbonization targets tighten across the globe. With the EU’s ReFuelEU mandate requiring a 70% SAF blend by 2050, companies are under pressure to diversify their feedstock sources. Niutech’s equipment is engineered to handle mixed, unwashed plastics without the need for extensive pre-processing, a capability already demonstrated in projects across Europe, Southeast Asia, and China. For the Jinan-based company, this contract serves as a validation of its forty-year focus on industrial-grade continuous pyrolysis, positioning its technology as a core component in the global aviation industry's transition to lower emissions.
