Jazz Pharmaceuticals Reports Survival Gains for Ziihera in GEA Trial

The latest interim data confirms that Ziihera (zanidatamab-hrii) is positioning itself as a new backbone therapy for first-line gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma. According to Jazz Pharmaceuticals, the trial demonstrated a clear improvement in overall survival hazard ratios compared to earlier findings. These results bolster the clinical case for the drug, which recently received FDA approval for use alongside chemotherapy and the immunotherapy Tevimbra.

Dr. Kohei Shitara, the trial's principal investigator, noted that the regimen sets a new benchmark for first-line HER2-targeted care. While the safety profile remains consistent with previous reports, the company is moving to establish this combination as the standard of care for patients facing this aggressive form of cancer.
