Kroll Launches APEX to Quantify AI Security Returns

With global AI spending projected to reach $2.59 trillion in 2026, Kroll has unveiled APEX, a new decision-making framework built on the CrowdStrike Falcon platform. Designed to bridge the gap between security investment and business value, the tool evaluates the operational effort and financial impact of AI initiatives.

Many organizations currently struggle to justify their growing AI expenditures to finance departments due to a lack of clear ROI metrics. Kroll APEX, developed using Charlotte AI AgentWorks and Falcon Foundry, addresses this by creating a structured discovery process. The tool assesses a client’s specific cyber environment and operational inputs to prioritize use cases before any engineering resources are committed. This allows CISOs and CFOs to move beyond guesswork and focus on where AI, automation, or human expertise will deliver the greatest impact.

Dave Burg, Kroll’s Global Group Head of Cyber and Data Resilience, noted that the platform shifts the corporate conversation from whether to invest in AI to identifying where it generates the most value. By embedding these insights directly into the CrowdStrike dashboard, the collaboration aims to provide boards with the financial discipline required for modern cybersecurity programs. The initiative deepens the existing partnership between Kroll and CrowdStrike, further integrating Kroll’s advisory methodologies with the AI-native capabilities of the Falcon platform.
