Cohen & Co Marks Decade in Detroit and Pittsburgh with Charity Gifts
To mark a decade of operations in Michigan and Pennsylvania, accounting firm Cohen & Co has donated $10,000 each to the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh. The contributions, distributed through the firm’s community foundation, highlight a decade of local volunteer engagement.

The selection of these specific recipients reflects the firm's decentralized approach to philanthropy. CEO Chris Bellamy noted that employees were given a voice in the decision-making process, opting for organizations where staff have historically dedicated their own volunteer hours. The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy maintains the city’s public parks, while the Pittsburgh rescue organization provides veterinary clinics and wildlife rehabilitation services.
Since entering the Michigan market in 2016, Cohen & Co has expanded its footprint through the acquisition of GHD CPAs and Advisors and, more recently, Gordon Advisors in Troy. The firm now employs nearly 80 people in Southeast Michigan. Similarly, the Pittsburgh office, established in 2016, has grown to include approximately 40 professionals who provide tax and advisory services while maintaining partnerships with local groups such as the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and the American Cancer Society.
