David Weekley Homes Appoints New CFO and First CMO
David Weekley Homes is reshaping its executive ranks, appointing Adam Zylman as Chief Financial Officer and Julian Duncan as the company’s first Chief Marketing Officer. The hires mark a strategic transition for the Houston-based builder as it prepares for the retirement of longtime financial leader Heather Humphrey after 33 years.

Zylman, who founded Grey Owl Partners, brings a background in private equity and investment banking from his time at SCF Partners and Merrill Lynch. His predecessor, Heather Humphrey, joined the company in 1993 and was instrumental in the 2018 rollout of the firm’s employee ownership program. She will assist with the transition before moving into an advisory capacity.
Julian Duncan joins the firm after serving as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer for the Houston Rockets. His appointment signals a push to modernize the builder's consumer outreach, leveraging his previous decade-long tenure at major sports brands like Nike and Under Armour. Both new executives are Rice University alumni with deep roots in Houston, a factor CEO Jay Brown noted as essential for maintaining the company’s internal culture during this period of growth.
