SiMa.ai and ARK Electronics Partner for Autonomous Drone Development
San Jose and Salt Lake City-based companies SiMa.ai and ARK Electronics are launching a joint hardware-software bundle to fast-track the creation of autonomous drones. The partnership aims to provide defense, industrial, and agricultural sectors with a US-manufactured, scalable foundation that prioritizes energy efficiency and rapid deployment cycles.

The new ARK-SiMa.ai Modalix MLSoC Bundles combine SiMa.ai’s Physical AI platform—centered on the Modalix System-on-Module and the Palette Neat development environment—with ARK Electronics’ manufacturing expertise. By integrating these systems, developers can potentially reduce AI development timelines from months to days, creating a more accessible path for mass-market drone production.
Durga Peddireddy, VP of Strategic Business Development at SiMa.ai, noted that the collaboration targets the drone industry's current inflection point by merging trusted domestic hardware with high-performance AI compute. Alex Klimaj, CEO of ARK Electronics, emphasized that the solution is designed to offer superior performance per watt while maintaining compatibility with existing industry-standard form factors. This compatibility allows drone OEMs to upgrade their systems without re-engineering entire architectures, effectively lowering the barrier to entry for high-stakes robotics applications.
