Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Taps Eluvio for Global Streaming Launch
Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited is set to launch Pasifika+, a direct-to-consumer streaming service powered by Eluvio, designed to deliver regional news, sports, and cultural content to Pacific Island diaspora communities worldwide while establishing a new, equitable revenue stream for over 30 local media partners.
The upcoming platform aims to bridge the geographical gap for Pacific audiences in countries like New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. By utilizing Eluvio’s Content Fabric, the service will bypass traditional media clouds and CDNs, using a zero-copy architecture that handles live and VOD distribution, monetization, and AI-driven video intelligence from a single workflow.
Natasha Meleisea, CEO of PCBL, emphasized that the initiative serves as both a cultural repository and a mechanism for regional self-determination. The platform will integrate subscription, pay-per-view, and ad-supported models to ensure financial sustainability for the consortium of broadcasters and content creators involved. Eluvio’s infrastructure also includes built-in security features such as forensic watermarking and geo-blocking to protect intellectual property across international borders.
Beyond basic streaming, Pasifika+ will leverage Eluvio’s AI tools for frame-accurate content analysis and clipping, allowing the organization to scale its output without requiring additional production overhead. The service is scheduled to launch later this year, with further details regarding pricing and specific market availability expected in the coming months.
