Haut.AI Expands Beauty Tech with AI-Powered Hair Diagnostic Tool
A new smartphone-based analysis tool from SaaS firm Haut.AI aims to replace trial-and-error shopping with precision haircare. By combining computer-vision selfies with consumer-reported data, the platform allows retailers to match specific hair profiles—ranging from density to frizz levels—to targeted products within their existing catalogs.

The technology evaluates six primary visual markers: curvature, density, volume, frizz, color, and color uniformity. When paired with a short digital questionnaire about styling habits and specific concerns, the system generates a personalized profile covering 19 common issues, including split ends, thinning, and chemical damage. Brands integrate this diagnostic layer directly into their e-commerce interfaces, allowing them to map specific product categories—from shampoos to specialized treatments—to individual user data.
Developed in collaboration with Brazilian beauty giant Grupo Boticário, the tool marks a strategic pivot for the New York-based company. Haut.AI, which previously focused on skin intelligence, now offers a unified infrastructure for face, body, and hair analysis. Anastasia Georgievskaya, CEO and co-founder of Haut.AI, noted that the platform addresses the industry's longstanding personalization gap, where product discovery has traditionally relied on broad categorization rather than objective, individual data. Existing partners of the company, including brands like Neutrogena and Beiersdorf, can now deploy this hair-specific module to build a more comprehensive view of consumer needs across digital and in-store channels.
