MacGregor expands European footprint with new Trieste service hub
Trieste has been chosen as the site for MacGregor’s latest service engineer hub, a strategic move aimed at bolstering the company’s maintenance capacity across Europe. The facility, which officially launched today, will serve as a central resource pool to support regional maritime operations and the specialized mega yacht market.

The company selected the Italian port city for its proximity to existing service nodes and access to a highly skilled local talent pool. Recruitment for the site is already underway, with the hub expected to reach full operational status by the end of 2026. This expansion follows a broader effort to strengthen the firm's global service network while maintaining the integrity of its established locations.
Tomas Hakala, Executive Vice President of Global Services, noted that the hub is designed to offer greater flexibility for fleet maintenance. While the Trieste office focuses on European demand, MacGregor continues to prioritize the development of its current global sites. The company, which reported sales of approximately EUR 830 million in 2025, maintains a workforce of 2,000 employees across 30 countries to support its maritime cargo and load-handling operations.
