Sunshine Silver Taps Mike Patterson for Investor Relations Push
With the restart of its iconic Idaho mine slated for 2028, Sunshine Silver Mining & Refining has recruited industry veteran Mike Patterson to oversee investor relations and corporate development. Starting September 16, Patterson will bridge the gap between the company’s technical operations and the capital markets to support its growth.
CEO Heather White signaled that Patterson’s background—spanning mining engineering at Rio Tinto to private equity roles at Resource Capital Funds—will be instrumental as the firm navigates the complex path to production. His most recent tenure at Ivanhoe Electric Inc. adds a layer of experience in communicating high-stakes mining milestones to the investment community.
The appointment arrives as Sunshine looks to solidify its position in the Silver Valley, historically the most prolific silver district in the United States. Patterson will focus on deepening analyst relationships and vetting strategic opportunities to amplify shareholder value. His arrival bolsters the leadership team’s efforts to transform the site from a legacy asset into a modernized, high-grade producer of silver and critical minerals.
