Steve McCurry Brings Decades of Human Connection to Leica Gallery

The exhibition serves as a companion to McCurry’s new book of the same name, the second entry in Leica’s Libretto series. By pairing his most recognizable photographs with previously unpublished material, the collection traces his evolution as an observer of global cultures and landscapes. The title, borrowed from a musical term for a slow, contemplative pace, mirrors the photographer’s own philosophy regarding his craft and the quiet trust he establishes with his subjects.

Central to this process is McCurry’s long-standing reliance on Leica equipment. The unobtrusive design of his cameras has allowed him to move through diverse environments with minimal disruption, capturing intimate moments that define his body of work. The show runs through October 18, with an opening reception scheduled for the evening of September 10 at the gallery’s 13th Street location in Manhattan.
