BILDTRAK Launches Modular Spatial-Mapping System for Mechanical Repairs

A machine is easy to disassemble, but reassembly often descends into a puzzle of identical-looking bolts and forgotten sequences. Irvine-based BILDTRAK Inc. is addressing this friction with the G-1, a modular spatial-mapping system designed to physically document the exact location and order of every fastener during a teardown.

The BILDTRAK G-1 consists of a 12⅛ by 12⅛ by 13⅛-inch impact-resistant polypropylene cube equipped with reusable, self-healing foam panels. Users draw bolt patterns directly onto the writable surfaces and press hardware into the foam in the precise position it was removed. This method replaces traditional, error-prone storage solutions like coffee cans or loose plastic bags with a visual, tactile blueprint.

According to CEO Scott Shaffstall, the system evolved from the common practice of using cardboard scraps to track parts, scaling that concept for professional use in fields ranging from automotive repair to aerospace engineering. Bisi Ezerioha, founder of Bisimoto Engineering, noted that the system eliminates the risks associated with fastener confusion, allowing technicians to step away from complex projects for extended periods without losing track of torque specs or placement.

The hardware offers three configurations: a flat workbench surface, an upright mobile unit for job sites, or a permanent wall-mounted reference board. The interior of the cube also serves as storage for small tools and manuals. The G-1 is currently available for presale at 119.99 dollars, with the first units scheduled to ship by January 31, 2027.
