Chicken Salad Chick Expands Maryland Footprint with Olney Opening

The first 100 guests to arrive at the new Chicken Salad Chick in Olney on September 23 will secure free chicken salad for a year, marking the fast-casual chain’s second expansion into Maryland. The restaurant, located in the Olney Village Center, kicks off a week of promotions to introduce its Southern-style menu.

Franchise owners Jim Schleckser and Carrie Tydings are spearheading the launch at 18209 Village Center Drive. The couple, who bring over 30 years of combined business leadership experience to the venture, selected Olney for its community-oriented atmosphere. The new location will offer the brand’s signature made-from-scratch chicken salad, soups, and sandwiches, with operations running daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The opening week features a rotating schedule of incentives to drive local traffic. Beyond the year-long chicken salad prize for the first 100 visitors on opening day, the restaurant will distribute branded tumblers, coolers, and tote bags to early customers throughout the weekend. Before the public launch, the team is partnering with the Manna Food Center to host fundraising events, supporting the nonprofit’s efforts to combat food insecurity in Montgomery County.
