Dr. Shoemaker brings over two decades of frontline clinical experience to the leadership team, balancing his time between emergency department shifts and national policy advocacy. His appointment signals a shift for HaloMD as it doubles down on its mission to support independent providers navigating complex regulatory environments and balance-billing legislation. CEO Alla LaRoque noted that his dual background in bedside care and administrative leadership provides a vital perspective for the company's physician partners.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Shoemaker maintains a significant academic and advisory footprint. He currently sits on the ACEP Board of Directors and serves as clinical faculty at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He also co-directs the ACEP/EMBC Independent Emergency Medicine Group Master Class, a program designed to help physicians manage and scale independent practices. At HaloMD, his efforts will focus on ensuring that healthcare providers receive fair reimbursement, a core challenge for the 25,000 clinicians the firm currently supports across all 50 states.
