Georgia Court Dismisses SIG SAUER Lawsuit After Trigger Pull Admission
A DeKalb County judge dismissed a lawsuit against SIG SAUER on August 26, 2026, after the plaintiff acknowledged that a police officer inadvertently pulled the trigger during a 2022 training incident. The ruling marks the latest in a series of legal victories for the manufacturer regarding its P320 pistol.

The case, Jordan vs. SIG SAUER Inc., collapsed after the officer involved admitted in a deposition that his actions, rather than a mechanical defect, caused the discharge. The plaintiff failed to produce expert testimony challenging the firearm's design and did not oppose the company's motion for dismissal. Finding that the weapon functioned as intended, the court dropped all claims with prejudice.
This outcome adds to a growing trend for the Newington-based manufacturer, which has now secured over 20 dismissals or defense verdicts concerning the P320. The company points to a comprehensive U.S. Department of War assessment as further validation of its platform. Following an inspection of 113,479 pistols and 1.5 million rounds of testing, military investigators concluded that the P320 is safe and that all reported uncommanded discharges resulted from human input rather than technical failure.
