Sun Auto Hits 600-Store Milestone with Bowling Green Expansion
A new Plaza Tire Service facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky, has pushed the Sun Auto Tire & Service network to 600 locations across 27 states. The opening marks a rapid scaling trajectory for the company, which operated only 30 stores as recently as 2017.
CEO Tony Puckett described the expansion as a reflection of the company's workforce and the trust placed in its local brands. The new site offers a full suite of automotive maintenance, including wheel alignments, tire rotations, and digital vehicle inspections. To mark the occasion, the company confirmed that all 600 locations have achieved Better Business Bureau Accreditation, a designation intended to standardize transparency and integrity across the national footprint.
Beyond technical services, the company is integrating into the Bowling Green community through targeted educational and athletic support. The firm awarded two scholarships via the Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College Foundation and launched a fundraising drive for the Bowling Green High School Cheer Program. Through this initiative, a portion of proceeds from oil changes performed at the new site will be directed toward local student-athletes throughout the month.
