Palo Alto Networks Acquires AI Startup Console to Automate Security

The acquisition integrates Console’s technology into the Cortex platform, allowing security teams to offload investigative work and alert prioritization to AI agents. By embedding these capabilities, Palo Alto Networks intends to move beyond simple ticket queuing, instead enabling customers to interact directly with their data to resolve threats at machine speed.

Nikesh Arora, CEO of Palo Alto Networks, described the development as a transition to "software-as-an-agent," providing the platform with the autonomy required to handle enterprise-scale security outcomes. Console co-founder Andrei Serban noted that the startup’s technology was built on the premise that intelligent software should manage operational complexity once a user defines a goal. As the threat landscape evolves, this integration is expected to reduce the manual overhead currently burdening security operations centers, allowing for faster response times and more consistent governance across corporate environments.
