Acer Challenges MacBook Air with Sub-Two-Pound Swift Blade 14

The Swift Blade 14 measures 0.51 inches thick, making it slightly bulkier than Apple’s flagship, yet its featherweight build remains the standout feature. Internally, the device opts for Intel’s Wildcat Lake processors, ranging from the five-core Core 3 304 to the six-core Core 7 350. Every configuration comes equipped with 12GB of RAM, suggesting a focus on productivity rather than heavy-duty performance. Display options start with a standard 1920 x 1200 IPS panel, though users can upgrade to an OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate at the cost of a slightly thicker chassis.

Acer also unveiled the Swift Air 16, a larger sibling to the previously announced Swift Air 14. Despite the bulkier 3.31-pound frame, the 16-inch model maintains a slim 0.53-inch profile. It features Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, up to 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of NVMe storage. While the Swift Blade 14 is slated for a December launch, the Swift Air 16 arrives in North America in the first quarter of 2027. Acer has yet to disclose pricing for either model.
