Opus Group Joins Türkiye’s Massive Vehicle Inspection Overhaul
With 34.5 million vehicles hitting the roads, Türkiye is preparing for a 3-billion-dollar transformation of its inspection network. US-based Opus Group has launched a pilot center in Istanbul, integrating artificial intelligence and contactless measurement systems to modernize the country’s infrastructure ahead of the national rollout scheduled for August 2027.
The initiative serves as a proving ground for the TURKA brand, which won the international tender in 2025. Opus Group, which manages roughly 30 million inspections annually, is leveraging its expertise in high-resolution imaging and data-driven operations to tailor the system to local requirements. These processes will eventually scale across 352 centers and 900 inspection lines nationwide.
TURKA Board Chairman Halis Ezer noted that the partnership draws on regulatory frameworks from North America, Europe, and Latin America. The consortium, which includes Spain’s Itversia Gestión and Argentina’s VTV Norte, aims to move beyond traditional checks by implementing AI-assisted diagnostics. This shift is designed to accommodate the evolving mobility needs of the Turkish fleet, moving the country toward a fully digitized inspection model.
