OLAY Targets Sensitive Skin with New Retinol Starter Lotion
Nearly 4 in 10 consumers avoid retinol due to fear of irritation, yet 70% identify as having sensitive skin. To bridge this gap, OLAY is launching its Regenerist Retinol24 Starter Night Repairing Lotion, a mild-potency formula specifically engineered for first-time users seeking anti-aging benefits without the typical harsh side effects.

The new lotion incorporates a slow-release technology designed to disperse retinol gradually throughout the night, minimizing potential surface irritation. According to Dr. Rolanda Wilkerson, principal scientist at OLAY, the formula pairs this gradual delivery with a blend of Pro-Retinol and Triple Collagen Peptide to reinforce cellular bonds while soothing aloe provides lasting hydration. The fragrance-free, lightweight consistency is intended to integrate into existing skincare routines without leaving a heavy or greasy residue.
This release expands the brand’s existing Regenerist Retinol24 collection, which already includes higher-potency options like the Night Cream and the MAX Night Repairing Cream for more experienced users. Powered by the company's Cell Vitality Science platform, the new product aims to address age-related declines in cell turnover and collagen production. The starter lotion is available nationwide at major retailers and on OLAY.com with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $27.49.
