BARTEC Unveils Modular Power Distribution for Hazardous Zones
Engineers working in volatile industrial environments face a new standard in power management as BARTEC introduces its Ex de Modular Energy Distribution Panel Series. This platform, certified for Zone 1/21 and Zone 2/22, promises to slash installation complexity and costs by up to five times compared to traditional Ex d solutions.

The system supports current loads up to 1,000 A and operates across a broad thermal spectrum, functioning from -20°C to +55°C, or down to -40°C with an optional heater. By offering both GRP and stainless-steel enclosures, the manufacturer intends to provide a durable solution for oil, gas, and pharmaceutical operators navigating both greenfield developments and brownfield retrofits.
CEO Dr. Martin U. Schefter emphasized that the design focuses on simplifying project lifecycles while maintaining rigorous safety protocols. According to Jan Kirschner, Executive Vice President of Electrical Safety Systems, the modular architecture allows for easier modifications and faster deployment, enabling operators to scale configurations without the need to scrap existing infrastructure. The panels integrate seamlessly with BARTEC’s ComEx Global control devices, offering a versatile toolkit for circuit protection and signaling in high-stakes environments.
