Nvidia to Debut RTX Spark Laptops Featuring N1X Chips in October
Nvidia confirmed its Arm-based N1X processor will hit the market this October, surfacing in two distinct configurations across a wave of new hardware. While the anticipated N1 chip remains sidelined for the year, the N1X arrives to power a range of high-end laptops and compact desktop devices from major manufacturers.
The flagship iteration of the N1X packs a 6144-core Blackwell RTX GPU alongside a 20-core Grace CPU, supporting unified memory capacities ranging from 24GB to 128GB. This high-performance hardware is slated for both premium portable workstations and miniature PCs, including the Microsoft Surface RTX Spark Dev Box. A secondary, scaled-back version of the chip features a 5120-core Blackwell RTX GPU and an 18-core Grace CPU, with memory options capped between 24GB and 32GB.
Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, and MSI are expected to lead the rollout. While specific pricing remains unconfirmed, industry concerns regarding a potential RAM shortage suggest these machines will occupy the luxury tier of the market. Nvidia currently claims the hardware is capable of 100fps at 1440p resolution with ray-tracing and DLSS enabled, though tangible gaming benchmarks and precise availability details from manufacturers are pending.
