Ezurio Launches Carbon AM67 Module to Boost Edge AI and Vision

With four TOPS of deep learning performance packed into a 45 by 30 millimeter footprint, Ezurio’s new Carbon AM67 system-on-module brings tablet-grade graphics and multi-camera vision capabilities to industrial and medical hardware. The platform integrates Texas Instruments’ AM67x processor family to handle complex edge computing tasks.

The Carbon AM67 utilizes a heterogeneous architecture, pairing four 1.4 GHz Arm Cortex-A53 application cores with three 800 MHz Arm Cortex-R5F microcontroller cores. This setup allows developers to run Linux alongside real-time operating systems simultaneously. The module supports up to three independent displays and features a 600 MP/s image signal processor capable of managing four MIPI-CSI-2 camera interfaces with 16 virtual channels each.

Security remains a core component of the release, managed through Ezurio’s EZ BSP. The software package provides a secure boot process and a Chain of Trust, built on an open-source Yocto and Buildroot foundation to avoid vendor lock-in. Hardware-level protections include a dedicated secure enclave and encrypted storage. To meet varied environmental requirements, the modules are available in commercial and industrial temperature ratings, with options for 4 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

Sonia Ghelani, product line manager for Sitara processors at Texas Instruments, highlighted that this integration marks the first AM67-based SOM to feature TI’s native Wi-Fi connectivity. The modules come with global regulatory certifications to simplify international deployment for OEMs. Sampling is currently underway, with mass production kits scheduled for release in October.
