CollPlant Adds LightSolver Founder Ruti Ben Shlomi to Board

Yehiel Tal, Chairperson and CEO of CollPlant, described the appointment as a vital step in scaling the company’s deep-tech ambitions. Ben Shlomi, an accomplished physicist with a background in quantum and atomic research at the Weizmann Institute of Science, brings over 15 years of technical leadership to the board. Her expertise is expected to prove critical as the company transitions LightSolver from initial technology validation toward broader commercial deployment in fields such as aerospace and Physical AI.

For Ben Shlomi, the transition represents an opportunity to scale photonic computing as a new layer for high-performance workloads. Previously a process engineer at Intel, she co-founded LightSolver in 2020 to develop energy-efficient platforms that utilize coupled lasers for computation. While CollPlant maintains its core focus on 3D bioprinting and recombinant human collagen, this integration signals a diversification into high-performance computing, challenging traditional architectures through light-based processing.
