SCANOLOGY Expands Industrial Inspection with TrackScan Sharp-Z and GO
Hangzhou-based SCANOLOGY has launched two optical 3D scanning systems, the TrackScan Sharp-Z and TrackScan GO, designed to bridge the gap between large-scale metrology and portable field inspection. By integrating edge computing and wireless architectures, the company intends to simplify complex measurement workflows for manufacturers operating in diverse industrial environments.

The TrackScan Sharp-Z caters to heavy-duty applications, featuring a 12-meter tracking distance. Its proprietary Fully Self Tracking technology automates tracker rotation, which minimizes manual repositioning when scanning expansive structures like aircraft frames or energy infrastructure. For tasks requiring mobility, the TrackScan GO packs into a single carrying case. The system supports three distinct configurations, including marker-free optical tracking and handheld scanning, allowing teams to navigate confined spaces without the burden of heavy equipment.
Both systems utilize edge computing to process camera data locally, enabling a cable-free experience. The TrackScan GO further enhances usability by incorporating a color camera and AR overlays, helping technicians map measurement data directly onto physical workpieces. Operators manage both devices through a unified software platform that supports preconfigured routines. This standardization assists in maintaining consistent reporting and reduces setup times for teams performing repetitive inspection tasks, with all measurement performance validated against ISO 10360-13 standards.
