Timekettle Debuts W4 Plus Earbuds with Babel OS 3.0 at IFA 2026

At IFA 2026 in Berlin, Timekettle introduced the W4 Plus AI Interpreter Earbuds, a hardware upgrade designed to bridge language gaps across calls, meetings, and multimedia. By integrating the new Babel OS 3.0 and advanced noise-reduction algorithms, the device aims to move beyond simple transcription into contextual, real-time communication support.

The W4 Plus builds on the original W4 platform, maintaining a lightweight, semi-in-ear design while introducing specialized AI tools. These include industry-specific translation profiles for sectors like biotech and manufacturing, as well as an AI Live Summary feature that distills long meetings into actionable takeaways. The system supports 52 languages and 106 accents online, alongside 13 offline pairs, ensuring functionality in varied connectivity environments.

A core improvement in this iteration is the VoiceFocus technology. By pairing bone-conduction sensing with upgraded dual microphones, the earbuds isolate speech in high-noise settings like trade shows or airports. According to company data, this system boosts low-volume voice pickup by up to 47% compared to the previous model. The Babel OS 3.0 layer further refines output by adjusting phrasing for natural flow rather than literal word-for-word translation.

Available starting September 6, 2026, the device comes in two tiers: a full-feature version for $379 and a subscription-based model for $299. Both versions offer up to 12 hours of total translation time with the charging case. For users requiring extended capabilities, an additional monthly plan unlocks further AI-driven personalization, including a speaking coach and customized terminology glossaries.
