Since its 2019 inception, AXIS-Y has defied the typical K-beauty trajectory by prioritizing international markets before establishing a domestic presence in South Korea. The brand now operates in approximately 100 countries, with overseas sales accounting for over 90% of its total revenue. Its flagship Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum has reached a milestone of 20 million units sold, serving as a primary driver for the brand’s global footprint.

Unlike competitors that rely on rapid trend cycles, AXIS-Y built its identity on a climate-inspired framework, tailoring products to specific environmental stressors and skin needs. This model was heavily influenced by direct community feedback from 68 countries, a practice the company intends to maintain as it scales. The infusion of capital from MBK Partners is earmarked for diversifying into haircare and beauty devices, alongside a broader integration of AI-driven data analytics for market forecasting and consumer engagement.

Despite the significant valuation, the partnership is structured to ensure continuity. The founder remains the largest shareholder with 60% ownership, signaling that the investment is intended to accelerate existing momentum rather than overhaul leadership. To sustain this growth, the company is implementing an employee stock-option program, aiming to align the interests of its workforce with the long-term value of the brand.
