Withings Becomes Official Health Tech Partner for French Basketball
The Fédération Française de BasketBall has signed a multi-year partnership with Withings, designating the French technology firm as the official connected health supplier for both its men's and women's national teams. The deal integrates clinical-grade health monitoring into the training programs of France’s top-tier basketball athletes.
Starting in the coming months, players will utilize Withings’ connected scales to track body composition and metabolic markers throughout the competitive season. The collaboration emphasizes a parity-focused approach, ensuring both men’s and women’s squads receive identical health-monitoring resources. For Withings, this agreement marks a significant expansion of its decade-long involvement in the sport, which previously included sponsorships of the New York Liberty and collaborations with former star Boris Diaw.
Beyond elite competition, the partnership aims to bridge the gap between professional sports and amateur wellness. With a community of over 150,000 basketball players already utilizing its devices, the company intends to promote its BodyScan 2 technology as a tool for early detection of cardiac and metabolic risks. FFBB President Jean-Pierre Hunckler noted that the move aligns with the federation's broader goal of positioning basketball as a primary driver for public health and prevention. Withings, headquartered in Issy-les-Moulineaux, continues to scale its operations globally, leveraging this high-profile national team endorsement to reinforce its position in the consumer health market.
