Universal Music Group Finalizes €250 Million Share Buyback
With the acquisition of 294,340 shares in early September, Universal Music Group has officially concluded its €250 million repurchase initiative. The company reached the total target outlay just one month after launching the secondary program, signaling a aggressive push to consolidate equity holdings within the global music entertainment leader.

The final tranche of the buyback, executed between August 31 and September 4, saw shares purchased at an average price of €14.65. This brought the total expenditure to €249,999,946, effectively exhausting the authorized capital allocation announced on August 6. In total, the program resulted in the repurchase of 16,552,027 shares. The Hilversum-based firm maintained transparency throughout the process, providing weekly updates on its investor relations portal to satisfy EU Market Abuse Regulation disclosure requirements.
