Jockey Club’s PBC 2026 Forum Marks a Decade of Philanthropic Growth

Hosted by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and the Institute of Philanthropy, the forum serves as a nexus for leaders in government, academia, and the social sector. Club Chairman The Hon Martin Liao noted that the event has engaged over 10,000 participants and 380 speakers from 40 regions since its inception, cementing its status as a significant international assembly. The sessions this year pivot toward systemic change, with discussions ranging from social mobility in Asian urban centers to the intersection of athletic excellence and institutional leadership.

Key highlights included a keynote from former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark on navigating complexity and a high-level dialogue between Hong Kong and Singaporean officials regarding economic growth and social equity. Beyond policy discourse, the event marked the release of the Club’s inaugural Impact Report, which introduces a new three-tier measurement framework to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of philanthropic interventions. Simultaneously, the Commission on Asian Philanthropy released an interim report estimating regional domestic giving at US$109 billion in 2024, with potential growth exceeding US$1 trillion over the next decade. As the forum continues, the focus remains on leveraging cross-sector collaboration to transform capital into sustainable social outcomes.
