Orvana Minerals Produces First Gold-Silver Bar at Don Mario Site
Empresa Minera Paitití, a subsidiary of Orvana Minerals Corp., has successfully poured its first gold-silver doré bar from oxide stockpiles in southeastern Bolivia. This milestone marks the start of production at the Don Mario processing plant following a multi-year suspension of mining activities at the site.
The recovery of gold and silver from previously stockpiled oxide material confirms that recent metallurgical upgrades to the Don Mario facility are meeting original engineering designs. CEO Juan Gavidia noted that the performance of the expanded plant aligns with the company's technical assumptions as they move toward ramping up operations.
Following the depletion of mineral reserves in 2020, the site underwent significant structural changes to enable both gold-silver production and the future extraction of copper cathodes. The project focuses on an upgraded ADR section to process the legacy stockpiles effectively. Moving forward, the company's primary objectives are to increase throughput and reach full commercial production while maintaining strict oversight of operational costs throughout fiscal 2026.
