Americas Cardroom OSS XL Kicks Off With $1.8 Million Opening Day
A massive $670,800 prize pool in the opening $600,000 High Roller event set the tone for the Americas Cardroom Online Super Series XL. The tournament series, which launched September 6, drew 1,118 entries to its flagship event, resulting in a $130,209 payday for the player known as BADGERING.
The tournament series, scheduled to run through September 29, features a total of 336 events with over $50 million in guaranteed prize money. Opening day action proved particularly lucrative, with six highlighted tournaments generating a combined $1,803,300 across 9,689 total entries.
In event #16, a $2,650 buy-in tournament, a final-table deal saw NewYorkMidgets secure $95,311 from a $507,500 prize pool. Other notable results included WilliamRed taking home $62,933 in the $109 Moneymaker event and lukewarmwater claiming $10,952 in the Sunday Splash. The opening slate balanced traditional No-Limit Hold'em with Omaha formats, including a 6-Max Mystery Bounty and a PLO 6-Max PKO tournament.
The series continues through late September, featuring three Main Events with a combined $5 million guarantee, four multi-flight events, and a series of high-stakes 'Nosebleed' tournaments scheduled for September 21-28.
