Scinai Shifts Strategy to Focus on NanoAb Platform and CDMO Services
Scinai Immunotherapeutics is narrowing its R&D scope following the expiration of its license agreement for the PC111 program. The company confirmed it will no longer commit capital to the preclinical asset, choosing instead to prioritize its proprietary NanoAb technology and the expansion of its contract manufacturing business.
The decision to abandon the PC111 program comes after failed negotiations with PinCell S.r.l. to extend their partnership. According to CEO Amir Reichman, the move is a calculated effort to preserve resources for projects with more immediate commercial viability. While the company maintains that PC111 holds therapeutic potential, management concluded that further investment would be premature without secured non-dilutive funding.
Scinai is now centering its research efforts on the NanoAb platform, developed in collaboration with the Max Planck Society and University Medical Center Göttingen. This platform, which utilizes VHH antibody fragments, remains the cornerstone of the company’s drug development pipeline. Current efforts include two IL-17 programs, with the company awaiting a decision on a €12 million grant from Poland’s FENG program to support its psoriasis treatment.
Simultaneously, the company is doubling down on its CDMO division, Scinai Biopharma Services. With approximately $3.1 million in committed customer orders across its Jerusalem and Yavne facilities as of August 16, 2026, the firm is targeting $5 million in total CDMO revenue for the year. A significant portion of this growth is tied to an ongoing project with a U.S.-based biopharmaceutical customer, for which the company is currently finalizing a definitive agreement to expand manufacturing support.
