Fidelis Care Launches Maternal Health Grant Program for New York
With postpartum visit attendance rates for vulnerable populations dropping as low as 57 percent, Fidelis Care has launched a $140,000 grant initiative. The program targets healthcare providers and community organizations across New York, aiming to bolster postpartum care and expand mental health screenings for underserved mothers statewide.

Applications for the Here for Your Health grants are open through September 21, 2026. The funding specifically seeks to support projects that improve postpartum follow-up rates and increase the prevalence of maternal depression screening. According to Dr. Camille Pearte, Vice President and Medical Director at Fidelis Care, the initiative is designed to remove barriers to care and connect new mothers with local resources during a critical recovery period.
The urgency for such programs is underscored by data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, which indicates that one in five individuals experience anxiety or depression during pregnancy or the postpartum phase. While national postpartum visit adherence averages 72 percent, the rate of non-attendance at Federally Qualified Health Centers reaches 43 percent. Fidelis Care plans to announce grant recipients this October to coincide with National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month.
