Chase Corporation Commits $100,000 to SWE for STEM Education
Westwood-based Chase Corporation has launched a partnership with the Society of Women Engineers, pledging $100,000 to bolster scholarships and volunteer initiatives. The program aims to bridge the gap between industry expertise and the next generation of innovators while providing professional development opportunities for the company’s own engineering staff.
Half of the dedicated funding, totaling $50,000, is earmarked for the Society of Women Engineers. This allocation covers five $3,000 scholarships for students pursuing engineering degrees and grants Chase employees direct access to SWE memberships, mentorship networks, and educational workshops. The remaining $50,000 will be distributed across the company's global facilities to fuel local STEM-focused outreach, including an initial donation to the Westwood Robotics Club.
CEO Eric Conley stated that the initiative serves as an investment in the future of science while encouraging staff to mentor emerging talent. Beyond current scholarships, the firm is evaluating future collaborations with SWE Next, a global program focused on introducing students between the ages of 5 and 18 to engineering through hands-on activities. The partnership signals a strategic shift in Chase Corporation’s community involvement, focusing on long-term workforce development in the industrial and electronics sectors.
