While the drug is already available in 66 other countries, its U.S. introduction marks a strategic expansion intended to offer healthcare professionals a clinically proven, non-opioid option for patients over the age of 18.

Mark Cuban, founder of the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, emphasized that the collaboration aligns with his mission to improve healthcare affordability through price transparency. By leveraging the Cost Plus distribution model, the companies intend to minimize the complexity often associated with pain management. Despite the launch, the medication carries significant safety warnings, including risks of hepatotoxicity, cardiovascular events, and gastrointestinal complications, necessitating careful clinical oversight for appropriate patients.
