Pexar Unveils Thunderbolt 5 Dock Featuring Integrated Touch Dashboard
Pexar, a brand powered by Lexar, has opened a Kickstarter campaign for the PexarBolt Ultra TBT5 Dock, a high-performance hub that introduces a 5-inch touch-sensitive dashboard to the workspace. The device, which supports Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, aims to offer users real-time oversight of their entire peripheral ecosystem.
The PexarBolt Ultra TBT5 Dock manages complex professional workflows through a 22-in-1 port matrix that includes high-speed 10GbE networking, dedicated CFexpress Type B and SD card slots, and an internal PCIe Gen 4 x2 M.2 NVMe SSD bay for local storage. By utilizing Thunderbolt 5, the dock provides 80 Gbps of bidirectional bandwidth, capable of scaling to 120 Gbps for intensive display tasks such as driving triple 4K 144Hz monitor configurations.
The centerpiece of the unit is its 5-inch display, which provides live telemetry on power draw, transfer speeds, and thermal status. A physical metal dial allows for tactile control, including the ability to interface directly with AI coding agents. Designed with an aluminum chassis for heat dissipation, the dock also provides up to 140W of USB PD 3.1 charging. Recognized as a 2026 IFA Innovation Awards Honoree, the device is currently available to early backers on Kickstarter for $479, with a planned retail price of $649.
