Travis Barker pivots from punk icon to animal welfare advocate

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker is trading his signature bad boy persona for a new role as the face of Humane World for Animals. The long-time vegan is spearheading the organization’s Small Steps for Good campaign, urging fans to adopt minor lifestyle changes that collectively reduce animal suffering.

The campaign highlights accessible adjustments, such as opting for plant-based meals, selecting cruelty-free goods, and choosing shelter adoptions over retail purchases. Barker, who has maintained a vegan diet since 2008, has previously channeled his advocacy into investments across the wellness and ethical fashion sectors. He emphasizes that meaningful impact stems from daily habits rather than radical life shifts.

Kitty Block, president and CEO of Humane World for Animals, noted that the collaboration leverages Barker’s authentic influence to reach a broader audience. The initiative, developed alongside the agency FlyteVu, serves as a cornerstone for the organization formerly known as the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International. By focusing on individual agency, the group aims to broaden its reach beyond its existing base of supporters in over 50 countries.
