Vance Street Capital Recruits Katherine Dowley for Investor Relations
Katherine Dowley has joined Los Angeles-based private equity firm Vance Street Capital as Head of Investor Relations. Her appointment signals an expansion of the firm’s institutional outreach following the 2024 final close of its fourth flagship fund, which hit a hard cap of $775 million and pushed total assets past $2 billion.
Dowley will spearhead capital formation and communication strategies, acting as the primary link between the firm’s leadership and its roster of limited partners. Her mandate includes deepening engagement with existing investors while courting new institutional capital to support the firm’s specialized portfolio. Prior to this role, she held positions at W Capital Partners, L Catterton, and Lindsay Goldberg, bringing a background in relationship management and private equity operations to the Los Angeles office.
Brian Martin, Managing Partner at Vance Street, emphasized that the hire aligns with the firm’s broader strategy of partnering with founder-owned and family businesses. The firm focuses on industrial, medical, life science, and aerospace sectors—markets that require significant technical expertise. Dowley, a University of Chicago graduate, noted that the firm’s reputation for long-term partnership in these niche markets was a primary factor in her decision to join the leadership team.
