Internet2 Convenes Research and Higher Education Leaders in Minneapolis
Technology professionals from across the global research and higher education landscape will gather in Minneapolis from October 26–30 for the Internet2 Technology Exchange. The event aims to address critical infrastructure challenges, ranging from the integration of artificial intelligence to the development of post-quantum security measures.
The 2026 program, curated by a committee of industry technologists, centers on the practical implementation of high-stakes digital tools. Discussions are set to cover network automation, cloud-ready research computing, and the modernization of identity management systems. Tripti Sinha, president and CEO of Internet2, noted that the forum serves as a foundation for collective progress, allowing experts to share technical strategies and move beyond theoretical concepts toward actionable solutions for academic environments.
Participants will engage through a mix of structured tutorials and two interactive unconferences—Advance CAMP for identity management and Peer-to-Peer for networking—which allow attendees to set agendas based on emerging field issues. The event draws expertise from over 70 organizations, including government agencies, research facilities, and global education networks, all aiming to bridge the gap between legacy infrastructure and modern cybersecurity needs. The conference is supported by a broad coalition of industry partners, including Cisco, HPE, and Microsoft.
