Famous Brands Franchisee Targets 15-Store Southeast Expansion
Samuel Batt, a longtime area developer for TCBY and Mrs. Fields, is extending his franchise territory into Georgia. The deal, announced September 15, marks a major growth push for the veteran operator, who intends to open 15 new locations across Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina to meet rising consumer demand.

Batt currently manages 15 TCBY shops and two Mrs. Fields locations, reporting his strongest financial performance to date with double-digit year-over-year sales growth. His expansion strategy centers on suburban corridors and college-adjacent markets, mirroring the infrastructure he established in the Greater Charlotte area. He is specifically targeting growth in the Research Triangle of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, alongside new development in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
Having served as a franchisee for 16 years, Batt previously piloted TCBY’s self-serve concept in Charlotte, a model that later informed the company's national rollout. As he moves into the new territory, he is collaborating with Famous Brands International to identify partners who share his operational focus. Beyond store management, Batt has maintained a local presence through consistent philanthropic contributions to school systems and regional sports organizations.
