MegaGen Unveils BLUEDIAMOND ZYGOMA System at 2026 NASM Symposium

Severe maxillary atrophy often leaves patients with few options beyond extensive bone grafting. Seeking to bypass these lengthy procedures, MegaGen is debuting its BLUEDIAMOND ZYGOMA implant system this week at the 2026 North America Scientific Meeting in Chicago, offering a specialized graftless solution for complex full-arch oral rehabilitation.

The new system addresses the unique mechanical and biological demands of zygomatic fixation, which requires a significantly longer trans-mucosal pathway than conventional implants. According to Albert An, head of research and development at MegaGen, the design prioritizes initial anchorage and prosthetic flexibility to navigate the challenges inherent in severe bone deficiency cases.

Technologically, the platform integrates MegaGen’s proprietary XPEED surface treatment and Cellike micro-grooves, which aim to support collagen fiber attachment while limiting gingival recession. The hardware features a flexible prosthetic interface compatible with both Multi-unit and AXA abutments, supporting diverse digital workflows like 3Shape and exocad. By allowing for immediate or delayed loading protocols, the system provides clinicians with a versatile toolset to reduce the surgical burden on patients who previously faced prolonged healing timelines.
